carefully, you apply the ointment to the scratches on his face and gently cover them up with a bandaid while dabbing some rubbing alcohol to his bottom lip.

“you are so lucky you have a caring girlfriend by your side to help you whenever you get hurt.” you tell him while simultaneously treating his swollen lip.

“i don’t care about getting hurt because i know you will always take care of me.” unconsciously you face flushes into a bright red hue at his comment, making you duck your face in embarrassment.

he cups your face with one of his hands while the other one points at his lip, teasingly.

it was true, since the start of your relationship jay had always seemed to pick fights with anyone who bad-mouthed you, which resulted in you getting worried about him while he brushed it off like it was normal and jay demanded you to quote on quote, ‘kiss them better’. however, today’s injury was on the bottom of his lip, making it swollen.
